there was a discussion in the other thread about people riding out of bounds at Cataract Creek. This happens when they ride the Fording Pass into BC. I called the out of bounds guys ayeholes because I thought they were regulars and were knowingly riding out of bounds. It turns out that they may not have known where the boundaries are. I apologise for questioning thier charactor.
Others in that thread expressed some confusion as well. Here is the best information that I have. If I am wrong, can someone please post it here and provide the correct information.
1) in this image, the pink line is our GPS tracks for the day. You can see that we approach Mount Boulton from the east, circle around the south side and then go into the horseshoe shaped play area travelling allong the North side of Mount Boulton.
2) this image is from google earth and it shows the boundary between Alberta and BC. The faint blueish line is the border. Anything to the East of that line is out of bounds as that is the Don Getty Wildland Provincial Park. The Government has allowed us to use a trail in the park to access the Fording Pass into BC and there are a number of signs that clearly state we are not to go off the trail.
