I'm putting a 154 skid on a 146 backcountry, has anyone looked into retrofitting the lynx skid mounted snow deflector onto a skidoo skid? Rather than putting the expert snow flap on it.

Or can someone with a lynx post a bunch of pictures of the snow deflector and how it mount.

After riding my Lynx this weekend the snow deflector does an amazing job. The only thing I fear is it hanging me up in bottomless powder. I rode with it this weekend with no issues but I think I'll be taking it off before my week in Revelstoke. I would just cut the snow flap on your Backcountry. My 2 cents.

I would just cut the flap but a couple buddies have done this skid replacement and with a 3" track at full suspension compression the metal tab the flap rivets to actually ends up getting hooked. So the 146 flap has to be fully removed and the tab either cut or straightened. If you want a flap for cooling you have to buy all the expert pieces.

Not a true comparison, but I cut the flap on my 2020 Expert. It wasn't a good idea as heat issues are a real concern on the trail up/down. I have replaced the cut-off for the start of this season and I will see what happens to my heat issue.

This is on
A 163 with a 163. I did this to
Loose overall length of the bumper past the tunnel.

850 bumper with 850 snow flap hanger. Much shallower hanger than xm. I think
It would give you the clearance your looking
For. The hanger did take some bending and hacking to get to fit around cooler.

If your only concern is track clearance you could probably just do the snow flap hanger and leave the rest stock.

I haven't ran snowflaps since my xp's and I never had overheating issues. Especially with stock scratchers on, I find it weird that lots of people talk about it and I've never had issues? Maybe because I've never had longer than 165?
