I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction to trouble shoot this one. I have not rode this sled for 3 years due to trying to fine a new can. Finally found one and took it for a spin. Starts and runs fine, but when i crack it open, she shoots to 7000 rpm than dies down to 6000 and stays there, roughly 70-80km/h. I did a compression test 120 roughly in both sides (tested m1000 to compare and had the same results on it). Not sure where to go from here, rave valves.... clutching issues..... maybe old belt?

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks.

First of all make sure that your belt deflection is good and that your sheaves are nice and clean. If those are both good it sounds like you need a new secondary spring because it is not back shifting fast enough to hold the rpm desired.
