wants snow

I have a 2010 m8 sp. Has been running with no problems. Going to Valemount this weekend and last time out i changed belts because other one was getting old. Was riding in snowmobile rally doubleing and sled had a hard time pulling rpm. was only coming to 7700. i have mds weights. set to run at 8050-8100 rpm. It was very warm out and snow was heavy. could the extra weight of a passenger and heavy snow cause this problem? It was like clutch would not back shift. Anything to look out for? I will be reclutching for mountians and have both clutches off anyways. After rally went for a burn myself and sled seemed to run strong, rpm where it should be. Thanks in advance..
