Has anyone been out to Long Island Lake (North of Westlock) recently? I'm wondering if the staging area which backs on to the gas line is still open. I'm thinking of camping out there for a couple of nights mid-week and I don't want to show up and find out that it's closed. Thanks.

If it warms up anymore the muskegs will be unpassable. Rode there last sunday and the frost was going. Good luck.

I was there at Easter, I could not believe how much snow was there, way more then in February. Staging areas were open then. The road was a disaster though.

We were there last weekend, passable but you tell that the bottom was starting to thaw. If it warms up much more you may be inclined to use a boat. or a mud cat.

Thanks guys. I'll assume that the staging area is still open. Happy trails to all.
