OK LADIES LETS GET SOME TEAMS GOING

This is the event that started it all!! It was a fantastic experience just to be watching it and taking pictures of it, I had to try and have more of a part in it so I signed up to race in the one at Bruderheim, the first one ever there and it was a success. The feeling of racing with the big boys and coming out successful was over whelming and coming back to the group and everyone saying great ride you did awesome just made it feel like a family. If you havent ever seen one of these go on you tube and look it up "Battenfelder ATV Rodeo" there is videos of all the events.

This is all done in teams of 4, now there are normally 17 teams of Men and 1 team of Ladies. So let change that and get 2 teams of Ladies then we can have our own class. So who is in!!

There is 3 Events on the Saturday and The Drags on the Sunday.

Saturday events
Drag Pull

•Each ATV will require a ball or grab hook that will accept a loop from a 1” tow rope.

•When the flag is dropped each team drives up to the drag bar and hooks up all 4 quads

•Each team then proceeds through the course in a coordinated manner to prevent ropes from becoming tangled or wrapped up.

•The drags are no longer weighted to help prevent axle breakage or unnecessary wear and tear

•Once the course has been successfully completed the quads are unhooked and the riders race back to the finish line on foot

•3 teams will run each heat head to head with points being awarded for 1st thru 3rd.

•Points will be deducted for barrel or course infractions.

Chariot Race

•One ATV, the tow quad, will require a 2” ball and will pull the weighted chariot around the course.

•The chariots will be weighted with metal as there will not be any chariot riders this year to help avoid injury.

•The remaining 3 quads (outriders) will chase the chariot after it has been given a predetermined head start.

•The Outriders will pick up mail off the barrels, complete the course and then return the mail to the barrels.

•3 teams will run each heat head to head with points being awarded for 1st thru 3rd.

•Points will be deducted for barrel or course infractions.

Relay Race

•3 teams will line up at the starting line

•The second riders from all 3 teams will go as soon as the 1st riders have crossed the finish line and so on until the last riders finish

•The first riders from all 3 teams will race head to head around the course and given points for 1st thru 3rd.

• Points will be deducted for barrel or course infractions.

• The course consists of sand hills, bush trails, muskeg and mud pits.

If you are interested in doing this even let me know and i can help you get the paperwork done!!!!!

I had an excellent time watching Sara and her team of Rhonda, Holly, and Megan compete in the rodeo. This was an awesome event and the next one is planned for the weekend of May 31, June 1, 2014. The girls really rocked and I think surprised some of the fellows!;)

I was watching videos my wife took last night and seeing your team as a spectator instead of competitor really showed your ladies skills. See ya in the spring!

Nytroman, you were there competing?????? I better start wearing more snowandmud gear to get recognized!

OMG! I can't wait 'til Spring!! We have 3 gals for another team so far...hopefully we'll have a couple teams for the next one!
Hmmm, does this conflict with my Spring sledding?...I may see you in the Fall. ;) lol

Good on you for showing we can do it too! :) The first ladies team at the event? and sure to encourage more - which I hear the Battenfelder's are excited to see. IMO regardless of how well you did, the fact you did it is enough! :D

they are the 2nd ladies team in the history of the event Tam. The first team is a bunch of family members and their friends, but unfortunately they weren't quite able to pull it together for fall.

Nytroman. I would suggest if she is going to compete to make sure you get her at least a 700 no lower...as you likely saw we did awesome in everything except the mud/water holes and the muskeg. Our 500 and 2- 550's didn't quite cut the mustard for that, they had the power to get the job done but not with speed. The 700's and higher obviouslly did better at the job and speed. We will be there again in the spring...time off is already planned. See you there.

Yes TylerG....more Snow and Mud gear for sure.

For sure. My plan is for a 2012 renegade XXC 1000 with some goodies of NOS. Or a 940 like I had the opportunity to ride all weekend. Either way is has to have power steering!;)

For the record your team was the 3rd time an all female team has entered. When the rodeo first started years ago we timed the events and 1 team ran at a time. This made the arena much less crowded and as a result more attractive to some of the lady riders. Your team obviously competed well and wasn't bothered by it, but we are hoping to have enough female teams to be able to have them run as a separate group. I know my wife Kerry will be having her team back, 1 more would be great. This isn't to say that your team isn't welcome to run against the guys, it would just give you a choice. Nytroman rode in a lot of the original rodeos with a team call "Adrenaline". It was in the days when a KVF650 was king and that is exactly what their team was. As you know we are trying hard to get the rodeo to 21 teams or better. All the support that comes from posts like this one and from Snow and Mud in general are greatly appreciated. Look forward to seeing you all there. (I have a long winter of turning my wife's 840 into a 940, my 940 into a 1026, my drag bike into a(you get the drift).

thanks for the info Don...... always good to have our facts straight for sure. I think it won't be too tough to put together a 3rd ladies team.

good luck with all the modding, and we'll see you in the Spring, if not sooner!

Don and Kerry...thank you so much for an amazing event. I am sorry if we upset you with the first time comments. What we
Were told is we were the first non relative ladies team. We totally new about Kerrys team. We tried to convince them to race but understood why they were out. This time. Again we are sorry if we offended your ladies as it was never intended that way. We just want to help you get to your goals of more team...but we want and will try to make them female teams! !!

Thank you again for a spectacular time. See you in the spring!!

Now I wish I owned a quad. This is totally something I would love to try out. I think my idea of forgoing the wedding and spending the money on toys is sounding better and better. Yah sara my little 250cc dune buggy sure would not have done the trick.
