My old Klim pants had a set of light foam pads in the knees, while my newer Tobe ones do not. Wondering if anyone else has experimented with the lightweight ones for mountain biking. Tried running my MX pads, but they’re definitely more robust than I need

Those look decent but I found I also like a pads on the sled to protect my knees from cracking the panels. especially if you wear hard knee pads.

Alpine Stars makes some really nice knee/shin guard combos. They're lightweight, comfortable and affordable.

These are great. Wore them the past 2 seasons. Love em.

Switching to the Mobius X8 this season. See how that goes.

Been running these a couple seasons now. Maybe three? I forget I'm wearing them, but my knees sure appreciate it

Where do you source the pads from?

My last set I got from sled treds, a Canadian make would be more ideal tho

Ive been riding with Leatt 3DF Hybrid's for a couple seasons, love them! Very comfy and they stay put. This coming from a guy who wears full knee braces all summer on my dirt bike. Leatt quality is very high.

Honestly the best ones are the ones I've made myself. I found a $10 yoga mat at a liquidation store that was heavy density black foam. I have cut sevaral knee pads from it and this year will also be making a pad to go under my tunnel bag to protect from scratches. Easy to work with yet tough material.
I glue on with Goop glue. This glue peels off if you change your mind.
