It was time to upgrade from my old bar of soap macbook of 8 years.

Compusmart was blowing out the 500 gig flash drive 13.5 pros and I got a sweet deal, got the last one.

It sure starts/loads up fast and the transition was a pain, just because my time machine was working but the disc was unrepairable.. and I had to buy a new slave to repeat the backup.

After that it was seamless. so far it is lighting fast and without a hitch..

Anyone ever have a flash drive system fail? I think it would be disastrous if you didn't do a backup,,, Am I wrong?

The wife has had one for a out five years. Has had a couple issues but nothing too bad. Her issues is they don't make the 17" anymore. I went with Mac book air and love it. Took a week to get used to and won't go back to a pc

I have 4 Mac Book Pros in the office and they are all used daily especially mine and my assistants. I just bought a new one as the other one was almost 5 years old. Zero issues for all lap tops. Would never go back to a PC

i used an external backup for my time machine. every once in a while I would get a message that the disk was n't repairable.. I ignored it, but when I tried to restore to my new macbook pro, it wouldn't do anything.
I got lucky there, so I bought one of those western digital My passport for mac drives. It's a 1TB flash drive.

I did backup through passport, and it restored my new pro to the older unit's settings. It's just like I never changed computers, except for the new OS.. Pretty schlick. It is about

the size of a pack of smokes and uses a usb for data and power. No more plugging power in anything, it's quiet too.

Here is a pic of one, mine is only ⅜" thick though.
