InReach 2 way Satellite Question?

Salesman at "The Source" said this can be used as a avalanche beacon.

I can't find any such info, it clearly states in the manual to have a clear line of sight to the sky so I'm doubting this info

Any help would be great.

As far as I know, THIS IS NOT AN AVALANCHE BEACON. It is an emergency location beacon.

Definitely not. It is a great thing to have along. Always can communicate when out of cell service.

Ditto that. No way are these things beacons, I suggest you call or revisit the store to make sure they correct their information cause you know there are people out there who would just believe them, and we don't need that.
