Honda CL90 Help S.O.S.

Ive got an old honda 1969-1972 CL90 it has been sitting 10+ years with a full tank of gas:( that has been recently drained:eek: and it has no battery which im not sure that is needed to start the bike. does anybody have any info on what kind of battery I need. or other things i should do to get it started. any help appreciated. I'd start by removing carb and cleaning it.
