It is stupid. Folks that want to make use of snowmobile services should pay what those services cost. Things of this nature are how we went from countries with no income tax (pre-WW2) to ~40% income tax, with no sign of that ever decreasing.
Well, that and paved roads and health care coverage and education and................

Your exactly correct I'm afraid to agree, we have people waiting for hospital beds, Sledding is a leisure, mostly enjoyed by those fortunate enough to have a relatively large disposable income. When I stand around in the parking lot, I never notice too many in need of a hand out, pretty hard to compare building a playground for kids with little money, or providing a safe place for people who's lives are destroyed by addiction to building a trail for someone with more money than they know what to do with.. Some of whom are such spoiled pricks that they bitch out the booth dude about having to pay their share of the trail up keep.Alot of whom still bitch at paying a trail pass.

I'm sure glad once any public money stops going to infrastructure like snowmobile trails, that health care waiting lists will end. Drug and alcohol addiction will no longer exist. No person will ever be hungry. What a beautify utopia that will be! /sarcasm off

And if we continue to piss money down the drain on every artsy fartsy project, native totem pole or for people to play on 15 thousand dollar toys, there will always be those of us who wait in hospital halls or die on a street corner cause the rest of us will not put up our hand when the question of Gov over spending comes up.. It's always the other guy that should cut back.

Can you please explain to me what sense it would make to cut funding to an activity that creates it's own net gain tax wise to the public coffers? Sure, there's a bunch of dead in the water special interest groups that shouldn't see a dime, no disputing that. But to say, "oh, that group can pay their own way" when that group is more than likely in the upper percentile of the tax bracket and pays more than their share, wreaks of that Occupy bullchit.

To be honest if the medical system wanted to fix itself it can be done. Unfortunately I have had to deal with the health care a fair bit in recent years and from my observation a lot of it is self inflicted and to continue throwing more money at is will not solve the stupidity and inefficiency that exist. No rightful business would able to exist. First of all I would eliminate the step of having to go to my GP first to get an appointment with a specialist. If my foot hurts I should be able to go to the podiatrist and have him look at it. Soooooo many examples of that but unfortunately everyone wants a piece of the tax payers pie.

Yes and how many businesses would go broke and how many more people would be unemployed because of the millions of dollars that is put back into the economy because of these $15000 toys? Don't know much good that would do. Think maybe the people that are on welfare and unemployment and can actually work should be put to work. Also guessing you don't have a sled or quad or your just bashing yourself.

First, I was upset with the east getting all this grant money. Good response to the article.

If you truly want to see a real waist of taxpayer money go over to Just about anything goes and see Bill C-27 - Toronto Sun Article.
