Can anyone suggest trails and random camping spots around Grande Cach for the first time visitor. We spend a few weeks a year at the Head waters past the Great Divide. We are looking for a new challenge this year and heard that Grande Cach may provide that. Don't get me wrong, the Mountain Park area is and always will be part of our life, we just want to broaden our horizons. I've never been to Grande Cach but have heard a lot about it. We are going for a couple of weeks and would like directions to the following areas (heard them by name only) Caw Ridge, Copton airstrip(also known as Porcupine), Wapiti-Nose Creek, Huckleberry tower and Shitties Shorts Road. Any info. or other suggested places would be greatly appreciated.

Lots of riding area around Grande Cache. Stage anywhere off of the Beaver Dam road and start exploring. The beaver dam road is signed off of highway 40 on the north side of Grande Cache.

If you watch for riding areas on your drive along highway 40, it may take you five years or more to get to Grande Cache if you stop and explore all the possiblities. Trails to the west of the highway tend to be short as you run into Wilmore Park. Trails to the east of the highway are often limited by the amount of fuel you can pack with you.

Start exploring, buy some maps and say good-bye to Mountain Park; you won't be back.;)
