I bought 12 pairs of rubber coated gloves from Bianca Amors stinky junk emporium on the west end. They are green with a non slip rubber palm. They actually work really well, and they're cheap. The only problem is the store itself might gag you.

I find a light breathable pair of regual MX gloves are comfortable when its hot. But for some better protection I really like a Icon Merc Shortys. They are a glove with a bit of armor (carbon fiber knuckles) but they are far better padded and are all set up and articulated/pre curved.

Hyflex gloves with rubber textured palm. A buddy of mine is a glass worker and told me about them.
I work with glass as well. They are good gloves, awesome grip, but they make your hands sweaty/stink!!
