I recommend you still use the skid plate, if you ride in trees there always that hidden branch waiting to poke the belly of your sled.

Exactly, I got a crack below my primary clutch in the belly pan from a small cut off tree last year, if skid plate was there would have had protection

Installed skid plate and covers it all up

That rip'n'grip kit is pretty stout, just need to get a small right anged drill attachment for the upper braces from home depot, milwaukee brand, and a hex ended drill bit. Makes things go a lot smoother...trust me on that one.

I would say 1-½ hour, if you have all the right tools.

Ice scratchers are a must for trail to mountains, rear footrests are great, I assume an e-tec 800, no sorry but I doubt you could ride a whole day and need any extra fuel, unless with riding with other brand sleds
I have both 800R's carb n di,

How much weight can you handle a lower altitude?
divide that by 10 when in mountains
But is worth the sore muscles, and amazing
an experience like no other

If you havent ordered the kit order there new redesigned lower brace New Suspension Module Brace Kit - Grip N Rip Racing LLC.
Will be much easier to install, the old kit was hard to get a ratchet into
