I got 13.5:1 Rk head and I use Sonoco fuel 112 octane. And mix it 20% with 91 octane pump gas. I get it through Mountain Magic in Edmonton. Hope that helps you

i have a 13.5:1 straightline performace head and i run a 20% mix with av gas, i think the end octane is about 93, but, and correct me if i'm wrong somebody, you shouldn't have to mix over 6000 feet? read that somewhere... i just got my av gas at villenueve airport, 1.55 a liter

one of the threads posted a while back had a octane calculator on it, Octane Calculator - www.bazellracefuels.com

Drive out to Skywings at the Springbrook airport. (bring proper fuel cans) Get a few jugs of LL100 Av gas....it was $1.50 something a litre last week. Mix 'er up 20-30% with 91 premium and yer good to go.

Edit: as Summitup said....above 5000/6000 feet or so you can run straight 91 octane....the problem is GETTING to 5000/6000 feet. So I always run the same blend.

Interesting i have a slp 13.5-1 head on my 07 xrs and run premium fuel only and 3 seasons running with no failure other than the crank issue and this was before the head. This sled gets run into the snow too. Am i missing something??

If you can be CERTAIN your fuel is good....and ride 3000 feet and up.....and the squish isn't real tight (SLP is not)....you can get away with 13.5 and premium fuel.
