UPDATE AS OF DECEMBER 19, 2010:
There will be a lot of pipeline activity on all of our trails this season. Please check the website often for current trail reports.
Anzac Trail: OPEN: The trail is in good condition and has been groomed once. Watch for workers from Centerfire Contracting and Enbridge Pipelines from B Corner going South to L Corner. Work in progress signs are posted and PLEASE watch for STOP signs that are posted from J Corner to K Corner. CNRL is doing some seismic work in this section. There is still a lot of debris that needs to be cleaned off the trail.
Stoney Mountain Trail: CLOSED. Our trail coordinator reports that the trail is in very ROUGH shape - extreme cold weather prevented the scheduled trail cleaning. Broken trees need to be cleaned as well as the staging area. A trail cleaning party is needed.
Thickwood Tower Trail: OPEN: USE AT OWN RISK: The trail is in fair condition but has not yet been groomed. Signage is erected. The trail needs to be cleaned and mulching is scheduled this season from G to H Corner. The staging area is being shared with Wilbros Construction. USE EXTREME CAUTION CROSSING BOTH RAVINES - FROM A CORNER TO BOTH RAVINES WATCH FOR WORK IN PROGRESS ON THE EAST SIDE OF THE POWER LINE. From the ravine to B Corner, Williams Energy will be putting a pipeline on the East side of the trail. STAY ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE TRAIL UP TO B CORNER. From B Corner to C Corner, the trail is good - follow all signs. From C to D Corner the trail is good. From D Corner at the shelters and Fire Pit, Suncor Energy will be using our trail up to E Corner. We will have a signed detour in the New Year - watch for further notices. From E Corner to F Corner we need the clear the dead fall trees ASAP and NEED YOUR HELP! From F Corner to G Corner, the trail is very good - watch for trucks from Conoco Phillips. G to H Corner is NOT ready yet as the trail needs to be mulched - watch for further notices. H to A Corner is very good - watch for work being done by Williams Energy as they are putting in a new pipeline on the East Side - STAY ON THE WEST SIDE OF THIS TRAIL SECTION.
Draper Trail: CLOSED. The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has brushed the trail. The trail is listed as ROUGH, travel with caution. D to E Corner has deep quad ruts which we will try to rectify.
