Forest service road block to check for ohv permit

Coming back down from the trail head,in north Idaho. Forest service cops pull up block the road,and start asking us a bunch of questions,they flipped there red and blue lights on, it seemed a bit much. after the 30 questions they checked our orv stickers and said have a nice day.Can they legally stop you like that?

Yes sir, they can legally do that. And good on them for doing so, it helps to weed out the bad apples.
