After watching some awesome snowbike vids i thought i better try one. I picked up a timbersled ST kit and put it in on my honda 450. I can not believe the terrain you can pilot this thing across. Only being on it two days I was crossing some wild, tight, and steep terrain. You can seriously have the timbersled snowbike going across the steepest thing you have ever dreamed of side hilling with your sled, and dodge trees that are as wide as your bars fairly easily. The only issue i had is that my forks were not stiff enough to jump it with. For just riding they felt great. The honda started and ran like a dream in the cold. For now I think the power is great. It doesn't go straight up in the deep that great, but you can wiggle your way up some insane stuff. I thought not having electric start would be a huge pain, but it wasn't that bad. I've heard of guys having trouble with airforks. Mine worked fine. When I valve them stiffer I'm going to fill them with nitrogen.

Anyway...just thought I would share. If you haven't tried one, I suggest you do!

I race motocross in the intermediate class. Its kind of a total different sport. Dirt experience will help of coarse. But if you know the basics on clutching and shifting you will catch on fast. They can be a handfull on a hardpack trail, and icy road is very hard to ride on. In the snow, its unbelievably easy.

Something to consider would be a rekluse auto clutch. you can let the bike come to a complete stop in any gear and it will not stall. Would probably be super handy for an unexperienced rider. I want a rekluse auto clutch just for racing even.

I picked one up last year not even trying one it's crazy the terrain you can get too so easy on snow bike compared to sled. Straight up steeper climbs not so good need more track speed, but everywhere else there a blast especially on lower snow days and in the tight trees.. Some days I find myself not wanting to ride my sled cause bike is so easy to ride you almost get lazy lol
