Anyone fly fish?

I have a rod and use to fly fish for trout a couple years ago. Im going to a lake thats full of jack and just wondering what i all need?

Im thinking some type of leader thats steel, but has to be a fly rod steel leader. Now is it stainless steel line that ties?

Some northern pike flys.

Also ive seen you cast near reeds and kind of bounce it through them, called mousing?

Ive caught 18-22 lb jacks at this lake, its very secluded and seems like they will bite anything, most people wont do the 8 hour paddle to get to the fish up stream.....

Thanks.

I use straight 30 lb Mono and rarely loose them. As long as they don't take the fly deep.
You could use plastic coated wire leader and wrap it 4-5 times and heat the coating with a lighter to fuse the plastic, holds up excellent and a strong connection.
I love Pike in the Spring, just walk through the shallows watching for bait fish as Pike will always be close. Drop the fly in front of their nose and hold on.
Enjoy
