first mountain trip

Just got back from a weekend of sledding in elkford. First time in the mountains and third time ever on a sled. Me and the girlfriend (AprilO) had a great time and I wanted to thank ferniesnow, the real wild 1, quadtrash668, medler and snow angel for joining us, showing us around, teaching some basics and just giving a great all around experience. So thanks to everyone and I can't wait till my next trip and I look forward to meeting more great S&M folk.

I really wished I could have spent more time with you guys as it was fun. Nice to meet you, the real wild 1, and april0. You have only touched the surface of Elkford riding and it gets way more fun!

I'm pretty sure that I learned some stuff from you the first day Doug. I didn't get stuck on Saturday or Sunday! Spent most of Saturday back in smith basin and I was practicing all the tips you gave me. We will be coming back to elkford this winter again so I'll keep you posted.

Haha yeah I know man! We gotta a couple pics but nothing really worth showing. I'll see if I can figure out how to put pics from my phone and camera onto the computer and see if I can figure out how to post them tonight. I don't really use computers much. All the time I spend on this site is on my phone.

For newbies they did well. Just have to try and remember about momentum, not stopping up hill, and be careful when they follow a 163" through the trees.

The next trip they will be awesome and those new machines will eat the trees......

The freeride was awesome, as to be expected. I did get to try a 2012 pro rmk 800 and a 2012 cat 1100 T. Both nice sleds also.

That little trip on Friday afternoon was the most rushed trip ever! I didn't even have time to pack a lunch. We left at 2:00 pm after they drove from Edmonton and got checked into the hotel.
It was a quick orientation and introduction to the Koko......shrimp woulda' been nice but jeeesh I gotta quit doing soo much.....

The good news about this sledding addiction is it eliminates almost all other thoughts for most of the year...really simplifies things...ha ha
