hahaha....that's awesome Powder Puff.....so true though, seems the battle we are facing in B.C. seems to be all about the Caribou?! This picture says it all!!

It's funny, they are still hunting them north of the Peace River and no problem with numbers. If you have the connections, there is no doubt in my mind that you could have caribou steaks for the banquet!

I respect nature and take care to treat any animals with courtesy and respect but IMHO there is another agenda with the caribou. The tree huggers and greenies are using them to close areas to motorized.

They are not near extinction. Some herds are dwindling but are they in their "natural" habitat or were they moving to decrease numbers in the north 100 years ago? Nobody really knows.

Apparently, this is a fact; there were no moose in BC south of the Peace River valley 100 years ago. Regarding the caribou, doo they really know the facts or are they blowing smoke?

Well how about this.

Poplar trees, eh!

I learned a "little Mother Nature" lesson about 40 years ago; poplar trees are hard and frozen stiff (get your minds out of the gutter).

Due to the water content they are not forgiving like pine, spruce, fir, and tamarack trees are. They are front end eaters, bumper benders, and complete stoppers!

Anyone else notice that about those silly poplar trees?
