EZ Ryde install question

I've got a 153" EZ Ryde rear skid to install in my '11M8. I installed the rear mounting brackets, as they were pretty easy; remove the stock mounting bracket, and the new ones rivet back into the original holes.

For the front mounting bracket, I used the template to mark the location of the new mounting hole, but the bracket does not really seem to line up to any existing rivet holes. Are you supposed to drill out all new holes for the front mounting bracket?
