I put some new fuel in the 1980 Spitfire yesterday, changed out the hard fuel lines, cleaned carb , sprayed some WD-40 in to intake,and pulled it over a while,. then turned on key and primed it, 1 pull ,it started,, then shut off, second pull the plastic recoil handle disintagrated in my hand. looked around,used to always have spares hanging on the wall,, NOPE.. been too many years since I bought a old sled, so looked at my walls and saw this old Wood saw of my dads, removed the screws for the handle and WALAA,,Recoil handle.took it to Whitecourt to day for my son to clean up and use for spare,I have another Spitfire my son found while at Fairview College last fall.
