Unless on private property or on reserve land, don't organizers have to get some sort of blessing from SRD? It was my understanding that the "blessing" came with some sort of obligation to repair any damage. I'm really curious now that it has been brought up. Can anyone shed some light on this?

You are correct Dean, as a rally organizer/runner you need to have what they call a TFA, in order to get this TFA you need to provide SRD with a map, highlighting low points, how you plan to handle soft bottom creek crossings etc. It is a lot of work, but once you get them on your side and show them you are willing to work with them it gets easier. The past several years we have had to pull a TFA for our Rally, and SRD has been very impressed with how we have handled everything. They do ask what you plan to do should significant damage occur to the lands you are using, its not that its a tough process, just involved.
