This is a cummins motor in a excavator but just wondering if this looks like wires to the preheater it is about a#8 wire that goes to either end of the intake. Key has a glow heater emblem by it but does not tun in that direction previous owner never used it West coast machine.

Those will be the grid heater wires, no glow plugs just an intake heater, key on will usually cycle the grid heater depending on the outside air temp, the colder it is the longer it stays on. Turn your key on give it thirty seconds and put your hand near it and you will be able to tell if it's working.

The grid heaters work good, only thing is don't use starting fluid because you can blow your intake manifold
up as the fluid passes through the grid!
