An interesting groom. We took the Snowcat down three times and the final pass was with the mogul master. I rode this in the morning and it was great but by the end of the day it was whooped! Warm night-time temps, no compaction, and a day groom while sledders are still out leaving the undisturbed set-up time very short.
Snow science plays such an important part of grooming.....temperature, compaction, and set-up time are a groomer's best friend!
This piece of trail will never hold up past 50 sleds this year due to the deep, unpacked snow. Without removing a serious amount of snow the moguls will return quickly because the base is soft. Remember that there is 7' of snow at the top and the wind probably took a lot more snow away, maybe to the Pass or even Saskatchewan, for that matter. All you operators out there, enjoy!
