closest mountain riding to edmonton?

couple buddies and there wifes are going to Edmonton to hockey game, then want to ride. all newbies to mountain riding so nothing large needed, they said even foothills riding would be fine. basically anywhere between there and calgary, any suggestions i can pass along to them?

5 hours to Valemount or Mcbride would be the closet mtns..

i told them mcbride was best choice already, they have 10 drive to edmonton so they hoped a little closer. this caroline at rocky hard to find?

not exactly mtn riding but Edson has some hills and snow i hear .

As you stated Mcbride would 100% be my choice, maybe slap your buddies and you make up there mind. Anything closer is foothills and less snow.
