Changing waterpump mechanical seal

What the easiest way to remove the mechanical seal. Do I need to drive it out from the back side or pull it somehow from the front side. I bought the Cat waterpump tool kit that was recommended. But i'm unsure what to do with it. It has a long punch with a shoulder on it that fits inside, what looks to be the oil shaftg bushing. I tried tapping gently on it but i'm scared to f something up! Are these things difficult to remove?

I figured it out, went and had a better look at the tool and played around til I found something that would work. Was able to drive the seal out from the backside, with a little help from the heat gun out she came without too much trouble. New seals in and back together. Now I just have to drop the engine back in and hookup the rest of the crap.
