Heading out this weekend and my new heavy rear spring showed up sooner then I expected.

I took at look at the rear shock and it does not make sense on how to put on the new spring.

Drop rear end of skid.

Take shock out of skid.

How do you get the spring off with the reservoir in the way? Does the top part of the shock also screw apart somehow? I hate screwing with the skid and decided not to drop it out unless I new how to change the spring.

Probably simple just never swapped out at rear spring before.

I came across this:

The reservoir line come off off the top off the shock , the spring is removed off of the bottom , take all of the preload off of the spring and then you should be able to remove the bottom spring retainer clip ( this looks like a large washer that the sping sits into ) it has a slot in it so you can remove it , it sits on the bottom bolt collar , very easy to do .
PS
you do not have to remove the shock from the sled , only the bottom shock mount bolt.
