I got a bit more info from James today. It is a 60km loop and they will have warm up fires at each card stop.

I didn't ask. I am not expecting much other than a hard packed trail. Hopefully it will loosen up some after a few sleds pass over. If you have a paddle track I would recommend a set of scratchers unless you like changing sliders. This is the first weekend in 3 weeks that I haven't had my weekend planned for me so I am going regardless of snow conditions.

I am going to head out and check it out. You never know what it will be like for temperature around there. It could be 5 degrees warmer then what is forecasted for surrounding areas. Unless the organizers cancel it completely I will be there.

Well it was chilly but not that bad. Think it hit -17 before we headed home. Cold temps kept many at home but there were close to 50 that made it out. It was a good event just too bad it wasn't warmer. We made the loop twice since it was shortened due to logging in the area.

Re: Caroline Snowmobile Rally - Sunday Feb 9th

It was a great day. I know it looked cold from your house LOL, but once you got to the staging area it was pretty nice and the sun was shinning bright.

I did not use the hand warmers on the sled and did not plug in the heated helmet. Never fogged up and stopped a few times to open my jacket and let some air in.... We really enjoyed the day.

Thanks to those that put it on, I know some people backed out and they had to do more of the work with less people, but they pulled it off and it was a great day. Glad we went.
