The CAC has released a Special AVY Bulletin for Feb 17,2010

Please read this. I was in sicamous on last weekend and I went up a small hill and it came down behind me. Then I got to a point where I could turn around and it cracked. This was a small hill and not that steep, with lots of trees.

things have been fracturing on slopes around here that are mellow. Its creepy out there play safe..

Here is a bit of an explanation about Special Avalanche Warnings (SPAW) in general.

SPAWs are quite different from a period rated as 'High' or 'Extreme' avalanche conditions.
