Blindman River and Battle River Trip Tomorrow

I'm wanting to go rhinoing with the family tomorrow on a nice quite ride and wiener rost from eithe Blackfalds (on the Blindman) or from Ponoka (on the Battle). Which of these two rivers is safest for rhninoing this time of year with the family? Which one is most fun? Flood water...open spots? Never been, but would like to!
