Hey everyone. What is the best back pack out there, not Avy pack? Looking for something kind of small, don't need to carry too much and make it heavy, just to fit a shovel and other things, for riding locally or Whitecourt type areas, where an Avy pack isn't needed. I don't want to wear my Avy pack if I'm on the trails or in the fields and ditches. I was looking at the HMK Nac Pak, but am not brand specific. Any thoughts?

I have the HMK Backcountry II pack and it's been great so far. Only ridden 3 times with it but the only downfall I have noticed is the flap that covers the zipper for the main compartment is stiff and can make opening/closing it a bit of a pain. But other than that, it's got room for pretty much anything one could need on a day trip. External shovel pocket, dedicated probe and shovel handle spots, etc etc. I got it on sale at the sled show and think I got my moneys worth, if I recall I think it was $80 or something like that.

I love my Skinz bag, spots for probe and shovel, lots of compartments, fits and buckles nice, sometimes forget I am wearing it until I go to unzip my coat

I have the smaller klim bag aswell. Enough room to hold the essentials and some extras. It's held up great over the past few years. And is light and comfortable.
