bad day changing recoil rope

I decided to change change my recoil rope today after I noticed a frayed spot , I pulled the cover and and found it full of oil , I wont tell you the words that came out at that point , so i pulled the fly wheel and stator and found the seal was bad . Now i am in the process of ripping the engine down and re sealing the bottom end instead of going rideing with my buddies . Well I guess better to catch it now than have it burn down on the mountain .

ya you got lucky! i had the same deal with my chain yesterday. thought i should check it and had 2 broken links! i rode on sunday in Mcbride!
