Always said I would never build another mod after my last one but here I am. I was going to do a 9r turbo mod this summer but heck the new polaris stuff is not that great. The Axys 800 has a pretty dang good track record and I had one in the seacan I could not sell. (174 in Saskatoon). So I built it into my new chute climber.
Build list is pretty long but a lot of the stuff from my old mod sled transferred over.
-Trencher 36 arms
-2018 spindles
-rpm billet wheel turbo
-tunnel dump
-fire and ice intake and a removable snorkel
- nice and clean gauges
- custom clutching (Close to TRS)
-custom huge air box
-ssi turbo head
- bd aux fuel injector holders welded to my custom box
-torque stop
- redline fueling
-doo oil cap
-bomber rails
-camo 174 x3
- races edge rear arm
- custom tunnel braces attached to the rear mount
-155 tunnel chop
- custom s.s tunnel dump support
-avid 7 tooth drivers
- turbo smart bov plumbed into the air box to blow snow off
- 25% geared up
-8 psi pulling 77.5 daltons
- +4 psi left
I have not had it out in the hills yet but did some pretty extensive testing at 2000ft in 3ft of snow. It was able to pull 8350rpm outa the hole and it settle down to 8250-8300. It’s doing about 78 mph track speed and gets there extremely quick. When I get out to the hills next week I’ll likely turn the boost up to compensate for the power loss at elevation.
