My Dad is looking to purchase a 2022 RZR 900.

I recall hearing or seeing somewhere to avoid Polairis's 900s. Am I misinformed here?
(There were belt problems I thought)

Should I tell him to look at either the 800 or the 1000 and avoid the 900?
Or are they a decent engine and machine?

This thread kinda sums it up better than I can

Someone also mentioned avoiding a 2015 900 because of the clutch design, 2016 and up was updated

don't make a 800 anymore just 570,900,1000 the nice thing about the 900 is you can get it in a 50 inch wide 1000 start at 60 also the 900 is about 1000 dollars less than the 1000 the 900 has 75 ponies the 1000 has 100

I picked up 2 900 trail ultimate this year and they have been great. Around 400 km so far with no issues. The gps screen is worth every penny. I am fairly new to the sport but very happy with the purchase.

Can’t comment on the rzr part but can comment on the 900 motor. I have a 2014. It’s been a great motor runs awesome doesn’t use a drop of oil. Have over 4000km. Been out in -32 ice fishing and starts like it’s a summer day. Wouldn’t be worried about the 900.

Been extremely happy with my 16 trail 900. Drove a buddies earlier 800 and it felt like an absolute dog in comparison. Wouldnt hesitate.

Like all machines though, the clutches need to be cleaned often. Most of the grenading I've seen on the trails have absolutely filthy clutches.

I had a 2017 razor S 1000. Sold it at 6500 km on it. I definitely wasn’t easy on it but I maintained it really well and had zero issues. Ran 30 inch carnivores and even axles held up

Buddy has my old 2012 xp900. 4000 km and has been a solid rzr, no clutch or motor issues. but bigger is usually better, get a 1000.
