When Oil Hit Redwater

You may find this interesting. a little photo blurb of ESSO's oil boom in Red Water during the 40's and 50's.

I liked pg. 34. it had an old newspaper from 1950 titled (Red Water may be the continents largest oil field).

Anyways, enjoy

We used to have a coffee table book of the history of the oil patch around the area. Born and raised there.

yup, ol' Mr Hawrelko....I was in his class in his final year of teaching before he retired...looking back, he was actually one of my favorite teachers.

Thanks for the post. Redwater was (is) a massive oil deposit but certainly not the largest. History is always worth checking out.

I am always your disposal if anyone wants to ride in this area.
