Just doing some summer maintenance on my sled, and my belt inventory has seen better days. Wondering if anyone has been using a lower cost alternative to the factory 060? Something that compares in strength? Engine is the 800ho and clutching is stock other then I might switch to 44/38 progressive helix and perform a cleaning and alignment check. Thanks again.

the 800ho should be using the 046 not the 060, the 060 was the M1000 belt.

Starting from 2010 the 800 ho in the crossfire's used the 060, 10 m8 ho's still used the 046 then went to the 060 in the 11 year.

You could try the Carlse belt, quite a bit cheaper & works well. Not near my sled but I think it's #836. That is on 800 proclimb, hope this helps

Proclimb belt is different. I ran 046 and 060 on my m1000 and didn't notice any difference in belt life with the cheaper 46 over the 60.

I actually have 046 spare which is not in the best of shape, but I might buy one new one to try, just concerned with the possible rev change with the 046. Trying to keep in the 8050 to 8100 range.

The 060's are cheap enough arent they? Just keep an eye on kijiji, I picked up 2 brand new 060's last year for my 11 m8 for $80 from a guy who didnt have a use for them anymore, bringing my belt inventory to 3 new ones and the original which was still on the sled after over 3500km until a month or so ago............ and from the looks of things after next season the guy who buys my sled will be getting two new spare belts as mine just hardly seems to wear them at all

Kijiji is always an option as well. I think last new 060 I bought was 200 from cat, I'll have to check if the reciept is in my file box.

I am not sure about some of these older cats (09-11) but I have an 09 M8, and I burn belts fast. In three years, i have burned through about 20 belts. Last season I switched to the 060 belt from the 046 and found that is keeping my rpm in the correct range (under 8100), but the 046 was pulling about 8400. I run mountain weights, and only change my belt when I go to the mountains, because the 060 pulls my rpm down to as low as 7000. changing it to the 046 in the mountains keeps my rpm 8050-8100. I run down about 2200 feet most of the time at home.
