800 Head Cover Removal

Had any of you guys had luck removing the head and re-using the existing o-rings?

Wanting to take a peek in there and have most of the stuff off the engine right now so only felt right. Just don't want to take it off without all the parts to put it back together. On top of that I'd have to see how much they cost if they need replacing and see if its worth it.

Absolutely replace the rings, not worth the problems that could show up after for the few bucks you save - just my nickels worth of noth'n.

And that's pretty much how I think. I had a buddy say just re-use the o-rings on my dirt bike and I was like WTF? For like 10 bucks why not replace them?

Funny thing is we're both mechanical engineers, albeit both extremely cheap.. lol.
