Ok so my buddy bought a 03 700 triple. It was parked for the last two years so we took the carbs off cleaned them and put them back in and well it ran but wouldn't stay running would shut off as soon as you touch the throttle unless you hit the choke. If it was kept it over 4000 rpm it was good. So my question is how do I fix it so it will idle properly.

drain all the old gas, put seafoam gas conditioner in the tank, new fresh gas and let it idle/ run, till it stablizes. or take the carbs apart and clean them properly.
