If bought with the correct gear ratio for application.
Wonder what ratios are available.
I would think 4:10 /4:30 ratio with that trans would be sweet if the trans had a good overdrive ?
3.73 standard but available with 3.31, 3.55 or 4.30. 10 speed trans is the only option.

In them hills.
It wasn’t that long ago that’s all the diesels would’ve put out. Now it’s totally unacceptable?? Lol
If you were just looking for a sled deck truck this engine in either a f250 or 350 would be a sweet setup.

Probably not the engine for you if your towing a 4 place enclosed all the time.

The biggest danger there is having all your sledding buddies find out you bought a gasser.

I’ve got the 8.1 litre with the Allison right meow, it’s perfect for my setup, but it will wear out one day I’ll be looking for another big block.

Technically it’s not a big block. It has small block bore spacing.

The new ford 7.3 will be a good choice for people that know the negatives of using the diesels but still need a HD truck. For most guys, the diesel is a want, not a need.

Why do do guys keep saying this ? How are you qualified to tell anyone what they “need “. If I want it , it’s a need ! :).

Im not telling anyone to do anything. Do whatever you want. If I decide to get an international vocational chassis 6x6 truck to haul my atv trailer, it’s a want, not a need. See the difference?

Yup F250 crew 7.3L 10 speed, Tremor package with a deck would be a sweet rig for sledding.

Fake news.
If your going f150vsf250 both in regular cab 2wd long box the 250 will have way more payload.
Correct on gas vs gas. The extra weight of the diesels bring it down though.

2020 F150 Regular Cab 2WD 5.0 8ft box: 3270lbs
2020 F250 Regular Cab 2WD 6.3 8ft box: 3816lbs
2020 F250 Regular Cab 2WD 6.7 8ft box: 3010lbs (without camper package).

And a more realistic configuration;

2020 F150 Crew Cab 4WD 3.5 6.5ft box: 1844lbs
2020 F250 Crew Cab 4WD 6.7 6.5ft box: 2518lbs

This is based on Maximum cargo weighs as Ford provides in their rv and trailer towing guide

Think still not apples to apples, think needs to be gas to gas (or 3.0 diesel to 6.7 diesel.)
2020 F150 crew 4wd 3.5 w 6.5 1850
2020 f250 crew 4wd 7.3 w 6.5 3200

still think a 7.3 250 would be a nice truck.

I was just pointing out the two more popular truck choices in our Market. I would venture a guess most guys would drop the extra few hundred in a359 over a 250 though
