I’m considering a new Summit with the 600 HO E-TEC. My last sled was a 99 700 RMK. Power and weigh wise the 600 Summit beats my old sled, and I would bet the handling will be no contest. For those that have a newer 600, I was wondering what you think of them?

Edit:
I just realized that 2009 is the first year for the E-TEC. 2008 was the SDI. I would still like to know what people think of the 600 HO SDI.

I am curious about the E-Tec power plant also. I would not likely pursue the 600 but would like to see the technology in the 800's.

I know a couple of people that have then, I think they are 06, they are quite happy with them. Easy, steady power.

Yesterday I talked to a sales guy at riverside. He indicated that it would be likely to see an E-TEC 800 for 2010. He also told me that the E-TEC 600 would be pushing 125 HP, and the fuel and oil consumption would be about half of my old 700. I’m impressed!

I had a test ride on an 09 600 E-TEC last weekend. It handled very well.Feels light, good power, not as much as the 800R but good for a 600. They're supposed to be great on fuel and oil consumption. I too am waiting for this technology in the 800's. It's not new technology, Evenrude has been using it in outboards for a while now.. anybody got one?? or know of someone who does? Whats the experience like there?

I am interested in the new engine, also. 12,500 at Martin. But with the problems Bombi's had lately, I don't know if I'm going to pony up the cash. I'd hate to get this seasons problem child.

I hear what you’re saying. It’s not new technology, but it’s a new application. Who knows what will happen. I think I’m developing a wait and see stance. At least, I doubt I will spring order one site unseen. I may wait until mid season or next spring.

I have a 2011 600 summit everest and I love it. Lots of power for 600. Lost count now many times I'd pass a 800 that got stuck doing a climb.
