I have a 1994 Summit 583, it runs great, but I don't have any headlight/tail light, or gauges. Just curious if it might be a fried lighting coil? How would one test a coil to see if it is good? Is there anything else that would cause me to lose all those things at once?

Two yellow wires coming out of the magneto housing use an ohm meter and check and see if there is resistance. Mine had none so I pulled the Stator out and found the wires broken right at the stator. Something had been picked up by the flywheel and it had stripped the insulation and broke the wires. I soldered the wires back on and used hot glue for insulation, 5 minute epoxy would work great too. It was a fairly simple fix, and everything works fine now.
