There was an article today in the USA Today saying how the one lady skier triggered her ABS backpack and that's what she thinks saved her life.

heard about this one sad day out in the mountains. it's been a very bad year for the ski community and avalanches everyone entering the backcountry must be properly trained and equipped its mandatory now a days. some call me a jerk but I wont ride with anyone that doesnt have proper avalanche gear and proper training but hey it's my life as well out there. thoughts and prayers to the families involved in this tragic event
