Nope. But the ops rated payload capacity is only 1936 lbs. Mine is 1844 lbs to be exact. You can't legally carry hardly anymore weight on the truck than I can. The gas engine Super Duties are a lot higher. It's just the way it is. Hell you can get the goofy 7 lug F150's if you want too and get an 8200 lb gvw and depending on the truck bump that payload capacity to around 2200 lbs.

These big heavy trucks they build nowdays are nice. .. are rated to tow a house... but because of their own sheer weight and low gvw can't legally haul anything... including trailer tongue weight. Most max tow 1/2 tons fall into the same category. Take my F150 FX4. .. rated to pull 11000 lbs... great. My payload capacity legally is like 1380 lbs... so trailer hitch weight alone on an 11000 lb trailer will put me to capacity.... with no driver lol. It's all a game.

Towing capacity is great. But I want the weight of the truck to help stop a heavy trailer and no get pushed around. That being said, I have a 13 f350 and havent had a single problem. Just wish ford would use a truck sized fuel tank so i wouldn't have to carry one in the box.

Then you buy truck size accordingly. I have towed around 9000 behind my one F150. ... felt just fine... just like all my old GM 3/4 tons did pulling the same load. No surprise as the trucks weigh about the same and have similar brakes both in size and capacity. If you need to pull around 13000 or more the 1 ton probably does good. If you need to pull highway tractor weight like half this forum..... buy one lol.

The other thing is that if you do tow, a 350 diesel will just hum along sipping fuel where a 150 will be sagged out, screaming as it shifts up and down and you feel like its about to blow!

Sipping. ... lol... thats subjective. Bettwr... yes... sipping no. If you live towing a trailer that is where buying a diesel is great.... I probably tow more than the average guy and I still don't tow what I consider a lot. I'm sorry... I dont want to drive a tractor everyday.... I did that... grew up with that ... no thanks.

It will tow at 2000 rpm up a hill with 12,000lbs, but it's putting out 35psi boost on said incline and 17-21 psi at a steady speed of 110km/hr on the flats. Expect 30L/100km fuel economy towing something heavy.

I only have a couple thousand km on the truck. Empty on the highway I am getting 13l/100km and boost gauge rarely moves.

With my 12ff Enclosed Floe with 2 quads, I have been getting 14-15l/100km. The boost gauge has moved to 10lbs.

Lots of power but with the extra 25% premium for diesel fuel plus the extra $8,000 or so up front, a diesel makes no economic sense. I use it almost solely for towing and I wanted the power and capacity. Drives like sh!t compared to my half ton (way rougher, bigger). I couldn't use it as a daily driver.

Your boost seems way out. On a incline I run no more then 25. 110 on the hwy I'm around 10

This was on a 6.4L power stoke while towing. 25 and 10 would be my values unloaded.

I am almost always hooked onto a 30' gooseneck with an average of 18,000 - 23,000 lbs on it. Set the cruise at 110, and het 23l\100km. When I have a sled deck and 2 sleds, I get an average of 16.5 l\100km. We have f350 work trucks in the same configuration but gas jobs, to tow the same trailer and only 10,000 lbs on it you're looking at 35-38 l\100km and don't plan on passing anything. Don't get me wrong, the gas jobs have their place. they are great for the occasional load or just having weight in the box.

As for the extra $8000 up front, Have you seen what the resale on a 5 year old gas 350 is vs a diesel? When I bought this truck I looked at having a base model diesel and a nice half ton. Problem was there is no used market for the base diesel, Cost of ownership was cheaper to get it loaded out.
