No one is gearing them down. Some are gearing them up.

Gearing up for sure at low elevation. I did 2 teeth plus a dj kit with great results at low elevation

I am selling the TKI belt drive conversion kits here in Calgary. Tom at TKI has found that 2.42:1 for a stock 154/163 XM/XP is providing best track speed and acceleration. And because I am always asked: Price is $899, both pulleys are hard anodized black, the natural aluminum was for photo only. Also complete with carbon fibre lower cover with speed sensor installed. No permanent mods are required. Two kits are in stock and finally spare belts are $120

What are most going with for the 154? Stock clutching for the moment. Would rather not have to change the chain as I just replaced it.
