So I haven't had a sled in about 4 or 5 years, the last one being a 2009 Nytro Mtx. It left me with a bitter taste due to its weight, low power, and un cooperative handling characteristics in the prairies where I do the majority of my riding. But I think I am ready to jump on a sled again and start to enjoy the cold weather and not hibernate in the house for another winter.

I have found a 14 xf with under 500kms on her and I was just wondering what opinions there are about this sled? Also are there any problem areas I should be looking for when I go over it? Its at a dealer and they say it has had all updates and still has warranty left because it was a snow check sled. But I will admit I was pretty lost when I was looking at it the other day, or maybe it was just overwhelmed with the excitment of getting back on a sled. Either way what do you guys think of them and what should I be looking for on this machine. Thanks in advance.

You may not be happy with the high country on the prairie as its geared towards more mountain time. But I ride my m8 on the prairie so I cant talk.

I disagree with you on this. They work really well in the prairies, especially with the wide stance skis, and the stabilizer bar.

Yeah sorry manufacturer gears it off trail. Have heard its choppy on trail. But you may love it. I ride my m on the prairie with no issue but im not on the prairie as much. Too bad you cant test it out this time of year.

Well I went back and talked numbers, 470kms on the machine, warranty until end of Feb, apparently it has a clutch kit and is geared for Sask riding. All updates are done, has the goggle bag and the big storage bag behind the seat. I got them down some more on the Price, I don't understand their pricing though as they have the same sled except in orange with a wrap and more kms, not to mention a bent handlebar, for $9800 plus tax, the one I got was listed at $8900 plus tax and I got it for $9000 tax in... So hopefully it will do me good and we get some snow. Otherwise I will probably attempt to ride it in sicamous/salmon arm area around xmas time...

Thanks everyone for your opinions, I am happy to be back into the sport and can't wait for the snow now!!!!

I trail ride and boondock pole lines in Ontario on my high country turbo, great sled... Geared a bit slow for the lake crossings but I don't mind not being the fastest on the lake, I leave everyone in my dust once we get to the boondock areas! I was originally looking for the 800, solid motor... I'm loving the turbo power but will admit the weight sucks when the sleds buried in snow over the hood lol

yup, canada post shipped her, they tried to drop it at my house but I wasn't home so I had to go pick it up after 1pm the next day.... lol... Nah, our cat/polaris dealer is across from the post office and kitty corner to the Casino as you can see in the background as well...
