2012 SP front shocks

I have a 2012 SP and one front shock is sagged out they are 16.5" . I put on a pair of shocks i had laying around off of a 09 summit x they are 17".

I went out the other day and can notice the difference in handling.

Was wondering a good option for front shocks I don't want to spend a fourtune on these shocks so if it ends up being to much $ ill just run the old shocks that are re-buildable.

Also is it possible and does anyone around calgary cut shocks down?

saw a set on new x shocks for the narrow front end on kijiji and the price seemed reasonable. Seems to me the add was from okotoks.
