Really hope someone can help. I've got a 2012 outlander max xt 650 that's not starting. The starter spines and the fuel pump is working it will crank around 100 -250 rpm. Once in a while it will hit 1000 and almost start then back to 100

I've swapped the battery with a fresh one. No go
I've jumped the solenoid, no go
checked and switched fuses, no go
only thing I got left is maybe the fuel pump?

any thoughts? I really need to plow my drive way.

I had similar intermittent symptoms that turned out to be a frayed wires coming out of my stator that were rounding out.

Checked grounds, vapor lock and starter wires. Think I caved, going to bring it to the shop tomorrow. I'll keep you posted.

no not at all, but I just swithed them out in october. I'm really leaning towards the fuel pump not putting out the needed pressure. Thats why I can still smell the fuel and the engine will almost crank over at points. They fuel up here is real $hitty and I'm sure it's not the cleanist.

Take the key out. Then turn off the kill switch. Turn it back on then put key back in and try it
