I was just looking to see what people know both possitive and negative about the 2005 RMK 900 50th anniv edition. I have been a ski-doo guy but stumbled accross this sled for a great price and don't know if I can pass it up.:confused:

Let me know your opinions.

well as for me I ride a 05 / 900 , but not the anniv. Edition , and I love it !
It is a little heavy , but if you start removing some of the stock Crap it will be a nice sled . But that's just me ! The 166" climbs well if they are set up properly ;)

Rode with one at new years. MANY MODS, but it climbed like a goat. it was amazing. Need to be a large guy to work it up there though.

I only rode with one guy that owned a 151" 900. He's not a big guy, maybe 170ish but he had no trouble sending that sled where he wanted it to go. He could climb with the '06 159" REV's. Got just as high, maybe a bit higher, it just took al little longer. Sled was mostly stock, SLP air box and a stinger is all I think.(Of course the top end went at about 2000 miles).

Ok so the RMK didn't work out damn it!! Now looking at a 07summit 800 and a 06 summit 1000, does anyone have opinions on these machines?
Is the 1000 just a heavy pig?

Lots of updates for the 1000's they are heavy but guys that ride them seem to like them. 07 800 151 (adrenaline, not X) stock was outclimbing the XP 154 and 163's on our trip to Pemberton this spring.

Lots of guys are hooked on the "pure power" of the 1000 as Summiteer said...very reliable ride. You do have to be in good shape to toss them around but you won't be dissapointed with the power.

The Rev 800's have set a standard in the industry that everyone is trying to maintain. I too witnessed XP's and Revs banging away on the hills. IMO the XP will take the Rev but just by a little bit.

You won't make a mistake with either one.

Good luck and keep up informed of your decision.

I am not sure the legth of the 07 summit 800 (yes it is an adrenaline) I have a feeling it is a 144, will hopefully find out later today. Not sure if I want to stick with this or go to a 151??

Although I heard 1 guy saying that he preferred a 144 over a 151, do any of you agree with this? He said it felt as though the sled turned the 144 with more power than the 151.

I'm still riding a 136, just wanna go steeper and deeper!!!:d:d

Track length really depends on the type of riding you do. Over the last few years I have had a 136/144/151/159. In deeper snow the longer track outperforms the shorter track, for boondocking the shorter track will often be your best bet.

So exactly what kind of riding do you plan to do--remember that a track won't satisfy all types of riding so tell us what 60% of your riding will be?

In my opinion a 151" track is the most well rounded length. But the longer tracks allow a guy to slow down/speed up in the pow without having to worry as much about keeping the sled speed up to maintain flotation. I went 136,151,159,162. I prefer a longer track, it keeps the fat guys on top of the snow a bit better.:d:beer:

I'm a fat guy (and I'm really not that good of a rider)and my 144 takes me almost anywhere I want to go (16 wide 144 has about the same footprint as a 15 wide 151), I prefer boondocking to climbing but the next one will probably be a 154.......I HATE getting stuck.....
